Hometown: (Pick one! I have lived in 17 different towns/cities in 10 different states over my lifetime. Beaver Falls is the first repeat 😊)
When I began working at Geneva: I began working full-time at Geneva on May 17, 2021 in the newly-created position of Assistant Director of Graduate Admissions. This was after a 33-year career working in collegiate athletics following my graduation from Geneva in May 1988. As a student in the mid-1980s, I worked in several departments on campus – McCartney Library, Admissions, Public Relations, Athletics and the Student Center. I’m excited to be able to give back in this new role to the place that gave me my professional start.
Education: B.S. in Psychology with minors in Public Relations and Business Administration, Geneva, 1988; Graduate work – Counseling Psychology, Northwest Missouri State & Communications, Pittsburg State; M.S. in Physical Education, emphasis in Sports Administration, Eastern New Mexico, 1997
What I love about Geneva: It is always the people that you get to know during your time at Geneva. People that will walk with you through a lifetime. And yes, it is a bonus that a Geneva education is Christ-centered to give you the Biblical foundation necessary to navigate the every-day work force.
Hobbies: I like to read, listen to music and sing, and hike/walk. I attempt to golf and run 5Ks. You will probably catch me watching a Geneva Marching Band practice or a Genevans practice to walk down memory lane. And I’m going to learn how to be a fan in the stands at Golden Tornado athletics events.
Favorite Verse: "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will hear you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart." -Jeremiah 29:11-13
Favorite Quote: "All I have seen, heard, and experienced through God’s Spirit has taught me to trust and love Him for what I haven’t seen, heard, or can even imagine, especially the glory of God’s prepared place and the awesomeness of eternal life in His presence." - Shaeeta Williams
